Is an ottoman bed useful in a smaller bedroom?

It can provide enclosed storage without needing the side clearance required by drawers. You still need space to stand and operate the lift safely. Check the opening direction and available access around the bed, especially beside wardrobes or under sloping ceilings.

What is the difference between end-opening and side-opening storage?
